Seniors

Pine Forest United Methodist Church is sending forth a call for senior adults to Come Fly With The Eagles” and offer your talents to Christ through a variety of fellowship and service activities that will enrich your life.

Isaiah 4:31 is our theme scripture: “But those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like EAGLES, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

1.    Senior Forester Eagles: These seniors (55+) meet every 2nd Tuesday of each month (exceptions in schedule below) for fellowship, a meal and program.  You are invited! Come fly with us! Welcome!

2.   Growing Eagles: We invite you to visit one of our adult Sunday School Classes each Sunday at 10:00 a.m. It is our desire to grow spiritually. We believe we are never too old to learn. Also, watch for periodic Bible study and enrichment sessions that are offered. Come grow with us!

3.   Volunteer Eagles: We challenge seniors to volunteer to serve God and others by using their talents and sharing their gifts as greeters, ushers, singers, teachers. Seniors can pray for others, visit the retirement/nursing homes and help with Wednesday night suppers or serve as lay worship leaders. The “We Care Group” provides comfort and meals to families in times of death….and volunteers can help with WINGS, Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels, our Pine Forest Day of Service (April) or the Howard Chapel Soup Kitchen.

4.   Rising Eagles: For those who wish to participate in short trips to eat out, attend a play, go shopping, tour historic sights, visit other churches etc., we plan R.I.S.E. trips that are Recreational, Inspirational, Sensational and Educational.  Registrations sheets are available. Watch the newsletter!

5.   Singing Eagles: Mary Crowson, Music Director, directs the “Golden Notes” each Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.
in the fellowship hall. This group sings periodically at worship, family night suppers, and nursing homes; plus they enjoy short trips and great fellowship.  The Golden Notes meet on Wednesdays beginning in September through May.
